Tom
Deleenheer, founder of sequoia ents. was active in the trade of real
belgian lace and flemish tapestries from 1991 until 2001, first as a
retailer in Brussels and later as an internet wholesaler on the
websites www.belgian-lace.com and www.belgiantapestries.com
. This resulted in the founding of Sequoia Ents. that in a short
time reached
customers from all over the world and mainly in
the USA, the UK, Australia and Japan.
As a result of his frequent contacts with
flemish weavers of mainly jacqaurd fabrics, Tom decided to tap on
the belgian market with a limited collection of figurative gobelin
pillows, which today is still the flagship product of sequoia home
textiles. (see collections). Those first steps, with a small 12 mē
booth on the Decoforce trade show, were not easy. To set a standard
on a pretty conservative belgian market, that is keen on brand
names, demands a good mix of creativity, innovation and
perseverance. sequoia

We have always paid a lot of attention
to offering a high quality product at the right price.
That is why we rely on reputed weavers that are
located in Belgium, the UK and Italy, countries with long traditions of weaving
textiles. Moreover, our products are finished in our
own ateliers, where Liesbeth, Tom's wife, meticulously inspects
each and every product. As a family business, we
are able to meet the demands of our
customers.
Apart from our own product lines of decorative pillows, sequoia
home textiles today also represents and
distributes the products of Abraham
Moon and Johnstons
of Elgin
, both factories
with a more than 200 year old tradition of
weaving wool fabrics. Quality first because quality lasts
forever. This is what our customers appreciate in our product
lines.
